Sustainability, cost savings, technologies & consumption: would you like to know more?

Why things get accomplished in successful companies?

Because we are able to modulate fears into positive levers to turn situations around and obtain the best results.
This is the key answer by Sergio Casella explained in his new book “Vincere la Paura in Azienda. Perchè nelle organizzazioni che funzionano le cose accadono".
The book is an attentive narration that delves in-depth into such a strong feeling as fear, experienced by all of us at different times and at different ages.

Once more, special attention is focused on the mechanisms connecting business and people, men & women and work. After Corporate Ethics – An ethical model for business success, in which ethics become the central pivot of a true corporate culture, this publication follows the same fil rouge, continuing to investigate the relationship between the actions of the individual and business organizations, between profits and worker satisfaction. Below, the president of PCMC Italia provides some insight.


Is there a connection between Corporate Ethics and this new book? 

Corporate Ethics tackled the topic of fear, too, but implicitly and never truly explicitly. Or better, the leadership model described is based on reducing and modulating – in a positive sense – one of our basic emotions: fear. The protective environment that the leader must create is focused on reducing the levels of fear because this is a psychological condition that entails physical consequences such as immobilization. In other words, fear prevents things that are foundational for the success of a company from happening. And this is the main theme of the new book.

Is fear present in companies, too?

This emotion is part of our personal and professional lives and manifests itself in different ways in the work environment, too. Except we never mention the word in a company. We never speak of fear; we use terms like “resistance”, in reference to “resistance to change”, an aspect that affects every tier of the hierarchy of needs pyramid devised by American psychologist Abraham Maslow. This is because in shared vision, in ordinary common approach, fear is synonymous of inadequacy and weakness. Despite the fact that the word is never uttered, it is undeniable that this feeling exists in corporate processes and that it has the power to hinder the work, to generate conflicts and cause failures.

What are the signals that allow measuring fear inside organizations?

Fear is silently present and it is possible to measure it through the signals it issues: inconclusive meetings, excessively bureaucratic procedures, hiding behind clichés such as “this is the way I’ve always done it”, “that’s not part of my job”, or even in some attitudes and behaviors like the way people dress, move or render themselves invisible. Being familiar with it, understanding it and modulating it is a task for the new-generation leaders; creating work environments where fear assumes a positive connotation is the goal.


These are some of the sentences spoken by Sergio Casella, our president from whom our company receives spurs for daily life. These reflections of his flank the road PCMC has embarked on focused on care, on attention towards people aimed at self-improvement and at improving their work. Are you ready to take on new energy?

We started off spurred by the eagerness to communicate new projects and in the first issue of our newsletter we asked you if you were ready to explore the world with us, remember? 

We tried to bring you inside our company through concepts that could truly express the reality we experience every day.
Because we like to speak about true, concrete things, things connected to our work, to our activities.

Why are we able to do this? Because our history was written step by step through the years and our words are the expression of what we have experienced during this journey.
And all this was made possible through inclusion, through the creation of a protected system that allows us to always give our best.

And so we continue on, moving forward, changing. If you have followed us up to now, then you have walked together with us, too.

Consumers choose innovation!

We use and hear the term innovation very often – perhaps too often – even when it does not actually correspond to the true meaning of the term. According to the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, innovation is

mass noun from Latin innovatio(n-) – 1. the introduction of new things, ideas or ways of doing something 2. a new idea, way of doing something, etc. that has been introduced or discovered.

And maybe this is exactly what the new generation of no-core toilet rolls represents: a new technology that can change social habits, make our daily life easier and above all safeguard the environment.

And this is exactly the feeling of the over 10,000 consumers who have elected the no-core roll Product of the Year in France!

The contest exists in over 40 countries and for more than 30 years has involved 3.5 billion consumers through attentive and reliable market surveys. Each year, thousands of people participate in voting the products, creating a selection of the true innovations found in each country.
